My contribution to the project
QA Tester
- Designed, performed, and analyzed test cases.
- Logged bugs in HacknPlan and worked closely with developers to solve them.
- Provided constant feedback on all aspects of the game from a game designer’s and player perspective.
Postmortem of the project
What went well
- The game was successfully launched on the various platforms available with good reviews and significant feedback.
- I was able to fully develop my internship period by logging all possible bugs to achieve the best possible game state.
What went wrong
- There was ineffective communication with the development department to solve bugs together.
- There were communication problems between the publisher’s QA team and our QA team in terms of bug reporting and bug fixes.
What I learned
- Learned from all the processes on game design as well as from the constant testing processes.
- Also learned the need for constant communication between developers and testers to fix bugs in a much simpler way and in the shortest possible time.
- I learned the real complexity of developing video games commercially with a team of more than 20 people.
