Inara and the Balance of the Island

Inara and the Balance of the Island is an Action RPG (ARPG) and Metroidvania game set in the mystical landscapes of ChiloĆ©, Chile, inspired by its rich mythology and legends. Players take on the role of Inara, a protagonist whose destiny is intertwined with restoring the balance of the world, threatened by the ongoing conflict between witches and mythological creatures. Journey through diverse realms, discover your true identity, and master real-time combat and exploration to prevent the world’s destruction.

My contribution to the project

Game designer and producer

  • Led an 8-person full-time team of artists and programmers to develop the game.
  • Designed and iteratively refined core game systems, including enemies, characters, combat, levels, UI, and game progression, aligning them with project pillars and stakeholder objectives. 
  • Managed and executed playtesting sessions, leading to significant redesigns of levels and gameplay mechanics, which directly validated design decisions and enhanced user experience.
