Chile Games Database

Chile Games Database is an adaptable web platform that will serve as the centralized source of information on games developed and published in Chile.

The project was carried out over three months and ranged from user research and design to development and promotion of the website.

The idea was born because Chilean game developers, students, and enthusiasts did not have access to an intuitive, comprehensive, and accessible information platform about games produced and published in Chile.

The overall objective was:
To create a responsive website that centralizes information about games made and published in Chile.

More specifically:

  • Interview potential users to gather information about their experiences searching for information on games made and published in Chile.
  • Design and prototype the website based on feedback from potential users.
  • Develop and produce the website.
Promote the website through events in the Chilean gaming industry.

Postmortem of the project

What went well

  • We launched the website with more than 160 games included.
  • The page was well received by all users through all interactions on social media.
  • The interviews provided us with very important insights for the design of the experience.

What went wrong

  • It was not possible to develop a game search system by region, but it was replaced by categories that improved the user experience.
  • It was also not possible to develop a search system by time.

What I learned

  • This was a project to be carried out in conjunction with the Google UX design course, where I was able to learn step by step everything involved in designing a responsive website from scratch.
